Panasonic LZ2 Digicam with IS (the real stuff), glass 6x optical zoom lens, and 5 megapixel - less than 150$

Walmart B&M has Panasonic LZ2 cameras on clearance for 145$. YMMV. These are new units and not refurbs like what you mostly find online now.

Um, it's got a Lumix lens -- which is generally regarded as very high quality.
Panasonic is also a well respected brand in the digital camera world -- so I think it's probably worth mentioning both of those facts in your title.

At first glance, I thought the post was for some generic camera -- and I was just wondering which generic camera had a glass lens w/IS.

these panasonic cameras do exhibit higher noise levels than other cameras. of course, for thep price, it's a steal.

If you want to buy online - and don't have a wally world nearbye - I would not spend 165$ as suggested above on this model as newegg has the newer model for 169$ the LZ3.

I actually returned an f10 as I hated how it performed 'outside' - it was 'too sensitive' constantly blew out areas, etc.
I actually like the IS feature - as it allows me to handhold a shot as low as 1/8 of a second which gives me lots of latitude up to ISO 200.

I agree on this cam ISO400 is not much good for anything other than a 4x6. . .
