Doh, I paid $350+ tax and more for accessories for this camera! Had to buy it last minute from B&H for my trip last month to Rome & Prague. Nice camera though as you say Greg, the 12x optical zoom is great and the 720P movies come out quite nice.

BTW it shows up as $289.99 for me but great price nonetheless. 🙂

Agreed - I also paid 349 for it last month just before Paris, but worth every penny.
And, the 21x optical at 3MP is great too.

How is it optical zoom at 21x? Sounds to me like it's digital if it has to be @ 3MP to work? Essentially you are just cropping in camera. That's "digital".

Have they fixed the mode selector dial looseness on top? Several reviews pointed out how loose it was and was most likely a production problem.

I have this camera (in fact it survived the down pour that was the Va Tech game today) and love it! Takes great shots, the zoom is amazing, and small enough to fit in my pocket. It is not a SLR replacement, nor is it meant to be, but if you want a camera that is easy to carry around, this one is great!

They fixed it. I have purchased 4 for family and friends and none of them have a loose dial.

i just bought this. wanted a creative vado hd anyway, and i figured might as well replace my digital camera too. 5% bing if you actually buy this through jr.com's actual website (the amazon link is not through amazon its from willoughby's camera or something).
