I am going to buy this Panasonic OEM CDRW (8x4x32x) and I was wondering if anyone else has it or if they had any problems and other general feedback. thanks.

dont waste your $ on this pos

buy a plextor or yamaha or the rebadged versions of it

they are much better in quality and burning capabilities

the thing is, I dont with to waste more money than i have to, since i am saving it all for my new comp and I really dont need anything faster than 8432. I just need something that will burn CDs for me. that's all.

btw, would a LiteON be any better

This particular drive is not exactly manufactured by Panasonic. Panasonic drives are usually very good. This drive is partially manufactured by Compro. My first one died in less than 6 months. I am currently on my second one. The mechanism is made by Panasonic but the PCB is not (as far as I can tell). There is not a single chip with Panasonics name one the PCB (unlike my DVD where every chip has Panasonics name). This drive is one case where I would NOT recommend Panasonic.

I have that exact drive, don't listen to those who dont have one or know anything about it, can't beat em for the price. Mine works great, and is really fast too (suprisingly). Sure there is better, but these drives do the job fine.

Thank you. I read a review of this drive and its not bad for its money. Too bad I'm on a budget :(
