Panasonic EDTV and Xbox 360 Resolution?

I don't think it will hurt anything, but why even set the 360 to an HD resolution if your TV is limited to 480p?

Hmmm... I'm guessing that your TV is doing the scaling. My gut feeling is that it would not look any better, but I honestly don't have the technical knowledge to answer that with certainty.

When I was looking up projectors that were 480p they claimed feeding hd content into them looked better then the sd signals because it was feeding higher pixals and the pj was downscaling it. Instead of a sd lower pixal input being manupliated to progressive. You fed it a much better picture to begin with to downscale. Keep in mind these were all EDTV Pj's that took in computer res and HDTV res through the componant or dvi inputs.

FWIW, my 720p native DLP looks better when I set my cable box to output a 1080i signal vs. a 720p signal.
