This is a great DVD player. I did quite a bit of research before settling on this model because my VCR broke and I said screw that I am not wasting more money on 20 year old technology, I am gonna get a DVD!. This is my first DVD player so I want to get a good one . It lists as shipping in 2-3 days so it may be in low supply. Also note that the $50 off $200 expires Dec 31 so buy this or whatever else your gonna get soon. I think it is the best of the lower cost DVD players out there. It has high ratings from review sites and for $140 the price is definately right. It is a little low on features but it is entry leval and it makes up for it with superior sound and image quality compared to most other entry leval players.

those looking for "entry level" players may want to check out the Toshiba 1600, do a forum search, stole mine 2 weeks ago for $90.00 shipped

Been using this DVD player for over a month now and love it. I specifically chose this one over the SD1600 since Audio Review has some unfavorable reports of that Toshiba not recognizing some movies and skipping on others. While that may not be the case with everyone, the fact that the Panasonic listings had no such reports made me choose that one. Haven't regretted it.

excellent DVD player. especially for $129. i got mine a couple of weeks ago with free shipping.

i also have the pioneer DV-424. another great buy at $205 (retail of $349). but i got this one at 800.com w/ all the discounts you could apply back in november (ebates, 800.com 20%, no shipping/tax, 10% citibank, $30 off $100)

Hehehe, got this one last night too... $95 after $50 coupon, $50 rebate, $20 gc, and $25 dell referral gc. Stupid thing is I placed a bunch of orders last night with various companies, and I forgot all about EBATE!!! Damnit! I think everyone should include Ebate in their post from now on so I won't forget!

edit: by the way, Amazon isn't on Ebates...
