Panasonic DVD LF-D311SC to back up Sony PS2 games

Can I use the Panasonic DVD LF-D311SC to back up my NEW DVD games of my Sony Play Station 2?
Is it compatible as there are DVD-R / DVD-RW / DVD-RAM?..

The LF-D311 does not support DVD-RW. It supports DVD-RAM and DVD-R, the latter of which can be used to back up DVD games. However, I thought you needed a hacked PS2, no? Why bother though? Do you have a 3 year old brother slobbering on your discs or something?

I can confirm that DVD-R movies do play back fine in the PS2. I made some home videos that work on the PS2. It's a bit more picky with media though. Cheap media doesn't work well with the PS2.

You will need a mod-chip to play your back-ups. I use the Pioneer A03 for backing up my games on the PS2 (pesky 2-year olds love the lottle silver frisbees). The A04 works good for back-ups also.

P.S. The LF-D311 is now <$180 on PriceWatch. Not bad, although last week they hit an all time low of $165.
