Seems like a decent deal. I've always had good luck with Panasonic cordless phones. Currently using one (older 2.4GHz) which works great, but batteries aren't lasting very long after all these years so I'm going to buy this set. This set supposedly uses normal NiMH AAA batteries. No more special/expensive replacement batteries! Also, 1.9GHz DECT 6.0 means no more/possible interference with your WiFi (plus longer range, right?).
 
1.9ghz should give you longer range. Typically, the lower the frequency the better it goes through obstacles.

I'm curious how the answering machine works though. I had a previous cordless set with an answering machine. I use voicemail, so I turned it off. The problem is/was that the answering machine automatically turned itself back on after a power outage. Since I never checked the base unit to see if their was a message, I once had 6 months go bye before I realized that none of my missed calls went to VM.

I've been looking for a good DECT system w/o an answering machine, but they are tough to find. Hopefully this one doesn't have the same issue.
