Ok, I have 9 panaflow fans, and want to get a digital doc 5 to control them, just one problem. Digital doc 5 uses 3pin fans, and panaflows are 4-pin. If you look closely at the fan though you will notice a little plug right next to the motor where you can remove the 4-pin cable. If I were to get the item linked below, do you think I could use them with the digital doc 5 (with RPM monitoring)?

I was thinking about it, but I would like the RPM monitoring capability. Those adaptors are madd expensive though $5/each!!!! Maybe I will have to go with the 3-4 pin adaptors just to save some cash.

Most Panaflo's I've seen were untailed actually, I bought some tailed 3 pin's simply because I didnt feel like tailing them myself.
I think all Panaflo's dont support RPM monitoring anyway, if you only have 2 wires coming from the fan into the tail then it doesnt.

But if you look closely at the connector end towards the motherboard there are 3 pins, just only 2 have wires connected to them.

Thats because the fan doesnt support RPM monitoring, a 3rd wire is useless... 2 wiresfor electricity and ground.

9 panaflow fans?! Wow.

Do you wear ear-protecting headphones while using your PC? Why not drop 100-150 MHz down and lose 3-5-fans? Man, I pity your neighbours ;)

they're panaflow's - they're quiet. All 9 fans in this case are quieter than the 2 sunon's I had in my old case.
