My panaflo case fans (4 of them) has 2 pin connectors. My MB takes 3 pins, what sort of connectors/adaptors do I need to get them to hook up and where do I get them?
Panaflows don't have a rpm sence wire...but they should be attached to a 3pin female tale none the less. If they aren't you'r gonna have to get some of those 3 pin tales and put the panaflow's 2 wires in them. They are 12v,ground,rpm (which you wont have).
You an either re-tail them making your own connector. Good directions can be found here. Subzeropc Or you can order tails that clip in real easy like. Find them here. pcmods I highly recommend the second option. They clip in and are ready to use.
use knife to cut the 2 very small "feet" of the connectors. Connect it the other way (as you already cut them, you can reverse and plug in) with pins 2 and 3.
<< Simply tear off the one of the legs under the red wire and plug it in like you would with a 3 pin fan. Watch the polarity.
This should take you no more than 10 seconds. >>
Ditto. Anything else is extra work. Of course, I believe you'll only have 1 or 2 places within reach to hook up the fans to the MB. If you have more fans to hook up than places you can reach on your MB, you can buy 3 to 4 pin adapters, cut off the leg on the red side, and hook into the adapter. svcompucycle.com has them pretty darn cheap with very low cost shipping.
