Panaflo not having RPM monitor?

I recently purchased the most quiet Panaflo 80mm fan. FBA08A12L.

I have this on my SLK800U to cool my CPU (and it does a good job, and is super quiet).

But the Mobo can't read the RPM, so it tells me that the CPU fan is failing. I have a 3 pin connector on the fan... that should include the RPM monitor right?

How can I make the RPM read?

Not all of them have a RPM sensor.

I have a couple of those fans, and they don't show RPM. In fact, they have a two pin connector and the wire reserved for rotation reading is missing. Maybe if you put another wire between the appropriate empty slots, but... I don't even think the fan has the circuitry for that.

I think you'll just have to buy a different Panaflo if you want the RPM to show up.

I just bought some Panaflo 80mm M1A from Sidewinder wiht RPM sensing.

For the definitive guide to Panaflo model numbers, click here and look at the Product Designation Code. As you can see there, Panaflo axial fans only have an RPM signal if their model number ends with an X.

Bigger picture... they're very reliable. Disable your mobo's "gripe" feature and go do something fun with your system

I replaced the cpu fan with a medium panaflo, since my cpu temp was going around 40 degrees. I'll wait for AC5 to set in, then check temps again.

Nice thread....I just got my first Panaflow L1A (FBA08A12L) from SVC and wondered why my system was reporting 0 RPMs.

Agree w/ mech... panaflow's are among the best fans that money can buy. If you can disable your mobo's fan detect just do that... it's the best option.

mine does not have RPM sensors as well.
The Asus Probe gives an alarm everytime I open the application and I was forced to disable that RPM sensoring.
