Panaflo L1A's or Adjustable Enermax's

I am going to buy a pair of 92mm fans. I can get the 2 Enermax's for $19 and the Panaflo's for $28. Which fans would you go with? Noise is the major factor. I want the quietest fan.

How and where will these be mounted? The plans for my next system will be using 2 pairs of YS TECH FD1212387B-2R 120 mm on a Rheobus to adjust the speed thereby lowering the noise. 4 fans (2 intake and 2 exhaust) at half speed and I should be able to get around 20 to 25 db for noise. They move 131 cfm at full speed.

I have one of the 120 mm Enermax as my intake fan, and I really like it. I am going to replace my Sunon exhaust fan, and maybe my ALPHA's HS fan with one too.

I went with the enermax fans, and really like them. They are quieter than my harddrives at the speed I am running them at. Even at the max speed, they were quiet, I am running them about 3 notches lower though. The only downside to the fans is that they are pink 😱 The upsides is that the fan is quiet, produce alot of airflow, comes with a gold grill - 8 fan screws - and a 3pin to molex converter, and has clear blades. I really like them and think they were a great deal for the price.

they are available in blue also,(mine are "in the mail"🙂) you just got to hunt around alittle. I needed some nice new fans and I think blue adjustable enermaxs will fit the bill perfectely. its nice they come w/the grills too.

gotta tell ya, i have 4 80 mm panaflos not counting psu and heatsink (God, how many times have i written that now in the past couple of weeks?!? 😉), and i don't think you're going to get quieter than this without going pabst or water cooling. the thing i hear about variable rpm fans is that they're quiet when they're slow, but when they speed up you sure hear them. i'm convinced as soon as i clean up all the wires and cables in my case (split loom, probably) and replace northbridge fan and video card fan, the noise will be almost nonexistant.

enermax vs panaflo doesn't really matter imo, its more preference. Enermax are a littler cooler cause you can adjust the speed and stuff... but panaflos are damn quiet already. Replaceing all case fans with panalfos (or enermax) is the easy part. The hard part is making the powersupply quiet cause even with a la1 in mine its still really loud. The noise from teh air rushing through it makes tons of noise. The other problem is the harddrive. I have a cudaIV nad its still pretty audible, when idle its quiet, but seeking its loud. And since my computer is barely ever idle i can always hear the harddrive chugging along.

I just built a Chieftec server case and put 2 Enermax's in the back. They are very quiet at their lowest setting, and even 1/4 to 1/2 up from minimum they are much quieter than the PSU fan. Good air volume at very low sound volume. I mounted the adjustment knobs on the back of my case, so I can adjust simply and quickly. Crank them up for gaming (if necessary) and down for general use. Mostly, I just leave them on low and my case temp is nice and steady.

I'm sure the enermax fans are louder then panaflo's at the same rpm, but enermaxes are adjustable. I am running as quiet or quieter than a panaflo, but am sacrificing some airflow when compared to a panaflo. I think the enermaxes are a better value then the panaflos because of all the accessories they come with. My computer didn't really need that much extra airflow, it just needed a little something to blow over the processor. These fans should work for anyone running a p4 that is not pumping extreme voltage through the chip.
