I am half-way through reading the "The Making of Revenge of the Sith" and Lucas actually entertained the idea of the Emperor saying to Anakin "I have waited all these years for you to fulfill your destiny{...} I arranged for your conception. I used the power of the force to will the midichlorians to start the cell divisions that created you."..."you could almost think of me as your father."
Glad he came to his senses and cut that dialogue out.
Two other things he cut from early script drafts...Han Solo as a child helping Yoda find Grievous. ..and boba fett. Have to agree, Han would have been really pushing it.
One other interesting thing the book reveals is Steven Speilburg is directing the final duel scene. I doubt he will get any credits...remember Lucas wanted Speilburg to direct Return of the Jedi..but couldn't due to problems with the director's guild.
