Palomino vs T-bird

Which is the best CPU 1.2 Thunderbird or 1.33 Palomino and 1.6 Duron Applebred?

They are all within 1$ of each other.

Thanks
Ken

If you want to oc, that duron at 2.2 ghz or more will own either the tbird or paly (you'll be lucky to get 1.5 out of that 1.33 paly).

You can get anywhere from a 0% to 15% increase clock for clock over the TBird core via the Palomino core.

Edit: I would get the 1.6ghz Duron out of the 3 choices posted. Definitely get it if you are going to OC.

It would be a tough choice between the 1.33 Palomino and 1.6 Duron Applebred. It would probably depend on the programs you plan to use and if you want to overclock. If it where me I think I would go with the 1.6 Duron Applebred.

You might also want to look at the Anandtech article <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.anandtech.com/cpu/showdoc.html?i=1927&p=1">Budget CPU Shootout: Clash of the 'rons

I'd disregard the T-bird off the bat, it'll be slower than either of the others and doesn't have SSE. I'd also go for the Duron, they tend to overclock pretty well and there's a chance you can enable the L2 cache to get an XP 1900+ out of it.
