Palomino Upgrade from T-Bird Requires Win2k Reinstall?

Its a baffaling thought. The T-Birds don't support SSE, and the new Palomino's do. I just ordered a new AthlonXP after succesfully flashing the bios on my A7M266 and from what I've been reading, people just arent sure about that. Can anyone confirm?

I know that when trying to upgrade from a single to dual processor you HAVE the reinstall. The kernal install with NT systems set themselves up for either single or MP setups. But SSE?

Any thought on the matter appreciated. Thanks guys.

I can't imagine SSE requiring a reinstall of W2K. It should be transparent to the OS. Different chipset? Oh yeah! But I've never had a CPU change require a reinstall. But then, I haven't tried it with an Athlon XP.
