Palomino,thoroughbred

Well, one is .18u tech the other .13u tech. That is the "major" difference. There may be some other very minor mods in the switch from Palomino to Thouroughbread, but the die shrink is the biggest difference.

Neither is faster than the other. The design and manufacturing process of the thoroughbred allows it to run cooler and overclock more than the palomino.

The difference if somewhat offset by the Palomino core being larger than the t-bred core, thus allowing more surface area to disipate heat through. Not enough though, the Pally's generally run hotter than the comparable t-bred.

I learned about better cooling due to my palamino 2100+, supposedly the "hottest" chip amd made, which would hit 60+ C under load with 2 blowholes, one 92 mm front fan, 2 80 mm exhaust fans; finally got it into the low 50's.

The palamino is also tricky to unlock so I never tried.
