Here's my result with K7 Master using Beta BIOS with Palomino Support. Tried old BIOS 1.1 too, but haven't noticed much difference, if at all. The only thing notable ia higher multiplier support (up to 14X) and the BIOS POST properly displays "Athlon 4" Anyway....here's the lo-down:

1.4GHz (10.5x133)
772/850 (Palomino)
643/822 (T-Bird)

1.4GHz (10.0x140)
804/885 (Palomino)
680/866 (T-Bird)

1.425GHz (9x150)
855/941 (Palomino)
709/920 (T-Bird)

Pretty nice increase in memory bandwidth! Other scores such as Q3A increased as well, especially low res where Graphics card aren't stressed.

Tako..nice numbers. I should be getting my 1.2ghz MP by Tuesday and I will compare it to my 1.2ghz Tbird @ 1.4ghz (8.5*165) on a KK266-R. I will be using the Epox 8K7A which I hope o/c's better than the MSI. No offense, but o/c'ing is not exactly MSI's strong suit. I really like the fact that I can go up to 2.15v with this board. I am hoping for at least 1.4ghz...any more will be bonus speed.

Yeah, MSI is not that good with FSB overclocking. Tops is 150FSB. However, for practical purposes, high FSB is too risky for me to lose data and potential damage to expensive components. I crank it up to 150FSB just for benchmarking and kicks ;) For day-to-day use, I keep it at 133 or 140FSB. Nothing more. Now, if the AMD761 chip can do 1/5th PCI 2/5th AGP divider, that's a whole different story. I'd be jumping on the EPoX using 166FSB, and still running under spec! Then again, we'll need higher grade PC2600 RAM for 166DDR operation. That would be cool

I'll be experimenting with EP-8K7A later this week when it arrives. We'll see how it compares to MSI's K7 Master. So far, K7 Master has impressed me with high memory scores and superfluous stability. both using the regular T-Bird and Palomino. I expect same, if note similar performance, from EPoX as well.

That's a good increase in numbers. I guess hardware prefetch really does work:cool:
