palomino 2100 in a SFF?

I have an old palomino 2100 processor laying around on a broken motherboard. Could I throw this thing in a small form factor case? Would heat be an issue with this processor? What sff cases are better with dealing with heat? Thanks

I've got an 1800+ in a cheapo biostar ideq with pretty crappy ventilation and temps are under 45c load.

My made a shuttle based 1700+ tbredB oc to 1.8 ghz and it runs cooler than that. I like the shuttle heatpipe to 80mm fan solution. You can get a beefier fan easily in it if you need to.

You should be okay - the heat/mm^2 from palominos is actually the same or lower as that from tbred chips. So your hsf has an easy time moving the heat away from the core, and all that matters is a bit of airflow to get it out of the case.

i dont follow sff, what is considered good in terms of build quality, low sound, and ease of installation

I always thought the palominos was hotter than the tbred, but per area, I dunno.

If I had to build one for myself, I think I'd go with a shuttle. The build quality was very nice and you can easily change out the fan for noise levels if you desire (if you get one like I mentioned above).

The installation was very simple. A little tough to work in, but both of the ones I used had nice cable routing and shortened cables that were just the right length for everything to go smoothly.

I'd say easier than a regular computer because you don't need to mount the motherboard or worry too much about routing the cabling as they already have it planned out.

I don't foresee any problems. I've got a T-bred in an Aopen 310 case (which is, IMHO, rather poorly designed for airflow), and while the case itself gets fairly warm to the touch, the system temps are quite acceptable.
