Hi, I've been trying to OC my Palomino 2000+ with little success. Okay, lets get one thing straight first, I know the tbred Bs OC better and all, I know that already and I'm planning on building a second system on one, so please don't tell me to get one. What I'm trying to do is get the most out of my current system, and I could use some help.

My system - MSI KT3Ultra2 mobo, 512MB Kingston DDR266 CL2, R8500 128MB gpu. I have no PCI devices installed. Audio is onboard.

I've managed to get the FSB up to 140Mhz with a core voltage of 1.8 where it runs stable (used 3Dmark2K1 for stability tests). Iwould like to get it to at least 1.9Ghz which corresponds to 12.5 x 144 settings for multiplier & FSB. But at 144 FSB and 1.825 core voltage it wont run stabley. In fact, 3Dmark2K1 wont even complete one run succesfully. Having looked at the sisoft I noted that the AGp bus was running at 70x4 = 280Mhz. Could the increase from 66 to 70 be the problem? I've done seperate memory and CPU tests at 144 fsb and there seems to be no problem (the RAM runs stabely at 140MHz CL2). I've had a look at the bios but I see no options to set the AGP bus to be fixed at 66Mhz. Is there a way I can do this (Bios update?)? I cant think of why else it wont run stable at 144 fsb. Any software I can use to find out what component is unstable?

I'd really appreciate any constructive advice provided.

Exactly. The Palamino only went up to 2100+, so you won't get much, if any, more

i'm just wanting to see if i can overclock my xp 2100 palomino. i have an asus a7v8x. it seems to work, and when the computer starts up the hdd led is going off, but nothing shows up on my monitor. is it a problem with the video card? i have a ti 4200 in the agp slot.
thanks

oh yeah, i oc'ed it by running it at fsb 333 instead of 266. keeping multiplier the same (13 i think).
