Palmrest area of IBM T40

Ok, this may be a silly question but I'm more than a little bit curious at the moment. On the right side of the palmrest area, just left of the arrow keys, can you press on it a little bit? What I meant is that I can press on that area a little bit and it move (down) just about a millimeter. It doesn't seem to have any screw lock the palmrest there so it can move up and down a little bit with pressure. Just curious.

Yes, I can on mine. Interesting that you mention it - I would never have noticed since my hands never put any pressure there. The palmrest is pretty thin - I took it off when I disasembled this machine to see if the speakers were the source of T40 noise (concluded that they are not). T23 has a much more solid feeling palmrest, but a squishier keyboard. Guess you can't have everything 😉

Thanks for confirming this. I was a little bit curious since I don't see this before as well. Just today that I really inspect the laptop carefully 🙂 The machine is very well built and very solid tough.

Man...it's just a litttle bit flimsy. You must be inspecting reallllllllllllllly close.

I'm sure you are just as happy as me though. 🙂

Yes 🙂 I'm very happy with the laptop. It is the best, very well-built, design, and very good performance.
