Hi,

Recently my Palm Vx has developed a nasty habit of, while synching, losing the connection. This really sucks because it won't finish with Avantgo's databases nor will it back up properly. I am connecting via a serial cradle using Palm Desktop 4.01, and AvantGo is synching when it loses connection. There is less than 1mb of AG data to synch. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem to this? I tried reinstalling both the desktop and the AG software, and same same.

My OS is WinXP Pro, and it's connecting through COM2. It seems almost like a timeout, but I can't find anywhere to specify timeout settings.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
 
I had that and found it to be an Avantgo problem. When their servers are slow, the sync just times out. I reduced the amount of content I was downloading and the problem went away. Usually the slowness would only last a few days so then I'd just add my old content back in until the next time they break themselves again.

 
Well, to complicate things, every time that it loses the connection (which is about 90% of the time) I have to restart the Synch manager before it will work again. 🙁
