Palm Pilot doesn't recognize USB

I just got a new Sony Clie to replace an old Palm Pilot.

I de-installed the old software and installed the new Sony software. Problem is with the sync software, it doesn't offer USB as one of the options as it should. It's options are just like the old Palm that used serial sync but the Sony is USB.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?
 
Thanks for the reply but the software is not the answer. The Clie is USB.

But I have an update. The USB option IS available when I login as administrator but not when logged in as the proper user. Also, the mail sync option (this is a wireless Clie) is available only under administrator.

Setup did not ask if I wanted to install only for certain users. Can anyone help?
