Palm OS or Pocket PC?

I've narrowed it down to either an ipaq (1910 or 1945) or the Tungsten E.
Nothing fancy and I wont be needing wireless. The ipaq cost a lot more, while the Tungsten is only
$199. I've used a Jordana back in the day and I kinda like the similarity of Windows CE and Windows 2000. Will I hate the Palm OS?

Tungsten E is a great PDA for the price if you don't need wireless.

I'd go for that, but I'm also a Tungsten E owner and am very happy with it. Tungsten E has a brilliant screen and nice loud audio to double up as a MP3 player.

There's nothing wrong with PalmOS, I acutally like it better.

As far as the processor, how does it compare to the ones found on the ipaq?

As long as I can sync my emails and edit word/excel files im a happy camper.
With the ipaq 1945, I read it has a slight yellowish display when tilt at an angle.
The Tungsten E can be wireless with the addition of a wireless card. So can the ipaq, but
it will run me more money. I think I'll go with the Tungsten.

check out the Dell Axim X30 low. they can be had for a little over 200 when they have deals going on.

312mhz processor, nice screen, mp3 playback, bluetooth, wifi.

I just got one from my school for $194 thanks to the sschool subsidizing the cost

So your school subsidized a whole $7!! :Q 😉

I have a Palm OS based Sony Clie TJ-37 (wifi for $240ish) and still love it. From what I hear Palm is faster to get to things you need to get to (more direct access to data/programs) whereas PocketPC usually requires a few extra commands to get there but it's easier to program for so there are lots more programs for it.

Don't get the E, I have it, don't like it or hardly use it and I'm trying to sell it. Email me if you are interested....

I've got an iPAQ 1945. The yellow tinge is barely noticeable. PocketPC is much more versitile (as in more programs.) Also, many companies have had that nice SD Memory cards for cheap (make it an MP3 Player)....

I started out using Palm OS, but once I tried Pocket PC I never went back...

Ditto. Started on a Zire71 (palm OS) ... moved to an O2 XDA (ppc) and never looked back...

I am also considering the Tungsten E...

Is Palm planning on updating their lineup anytime soon?? What are the best places for PalmOS and PocketPC reviews? thanks,
