ZDNet article "Palm admitted Monday that its low-end m130 handheld is not capable of displaying as many colors as the company had advertised. ... Somsak said the device was designed to offer 64,000 colors but that somehow in the implementation of the design the product did not function as planned. "

oops! they accidentally built it as a 12-bit color device (4,096) instead of 16-bit and never noticed the difference!

either that or they're lying, but maybe I'm just cynical.

Didn't HP do that same thing with one of their PDA's a while ago? But at least they noticed pretty quickly that whoever was actually manufacturing them had put the wrong chip in it.

I'd ask why it isn't in FS/FT, but since I currently have 3 spare slot-1 mobos, 2 CPUs and other PC junk gathering dust, I'm even more guilty :)
