Palm Bluetooth hotsync problems

After months of not having any issues, last week, my Palm TX started refusing to sync with my Mac. I keep getting the message, "Unable to initiate HotSync operation because the port is in use by another application". I've tried google, and the only thing I found out is that this is not a platform specific problem. People have had this same problem with Macs and WinXP. I've tried all the suggested solutions, with no success. Anyone has have a solution?
