I want to buy a HD 4850.Since I don't know much about the manufacturers of these cards I would like to know what company to prefer in buying a card.Any helpful comment will be appreciated.

Out of those three I would go with Palit for some reason...

Some other people would say Sapphire. But have you considered Visiontek? They have a lifetime warranty.

He mentioned GeCube, so I assume he doesn't live in the US -- VisionTek might not be available where he is.

Normally I look at the warranty periods/price and bundles ,however bundle wise it more or less the same with 4850 cards so that leaves warranty/price,both Sapphire and GeCube are on 2 year warranty, not sure on the Palit so basically not much between them.

There is a guy that works for Palit on these forums (Palitguy I think) so maybe any warranty process would be easier. I haven't heard too many great things about Sapphire warranty services.

If you've got Visiontek available, go with them for sure. Otherwise of the three, I'd pick Palit. Gecube I'm relatively unfamiliar with, and Sapphire I've heard horror stories over their customer service and RMA department.

Yeah, I keep hearing horror stories about some "GreenGecko" idiot at the Sapphire forums who you have to deal with when you need to RMA with them. After reading through some of the threads over there myself, I'm not too surprised at the negative feelings towards them...

So, after looking at the OP's profile -- he seems to be in India. Is Gainward available over there? They're selling ATI cards now, in addition to NV stuff.

I would of thought Gigabyte and Asus would be available of there too,3 year warranty on those.

As to RMA service the quality varies between country to country and also as we know sometimes on the person at the other end of the phone.

Thank you all for responding.
Actually the nearest place I know where discrete GPU's are available is 300km away so I looked up an online site where only above mentioned brands are available.I will wait a week or two and see if they update their site with new brands or else I will go with PALIT.

A while back, Sapphire sold cheap 9800pros with a 128mbit memory bandwidth instead of the standard 256. This crippled the card and suckered a lot of people into a card at a price that literally was too good to be true. Because of that I no longer buy their cards.
