Which one would you choose?

The ICEQ exhausts heat out the back and I'd probably vmod (softmod) the 3870 while I probably wouldn't on the 8800 since I think you have to hardmod it. And there's always the chance of software overclocking through ATITool possibly on the 3870.

I think regular 3870s can do about 890 on the core on stock cooling.

I just need a card to hold me over till the next-gen stuff comes out. I thought about getting a 3870x2 but I think I'd rather not right now.

I really like the Palit version of the 8800GT though. What kind of performance increases do people see with 8800GT overclocking?

Oh and the price is $10 more expensive for the 8800GT.

Such as lack of substance to that post. You must own an 8800....or be 14.

The 3870 is about as fast to a little slower than the 8800GT depending on the application. Given the fact that it's more expensive (granted not by much) I'd still lean towards the 8800GT. What hardware are you running in your system now?

I ended up choosing the Palit 8800GT. Hopefully it turns out well. Will post results when I get it.
