I'm sorry, but that's lame. It's nobody's business and it should not be used for political gain.

It's one thing to quietly announce that you have a "special needs" child, and ask people to respect your family's privacy. It's a somewhat different matter to make it a prominent part of your political resume to solidify your "Pro-Life" credentials.

Bingo! However, I see the McCain camp as the "exploiters" in this instance. I have a funny feeling she is not quite aware that she is being used... Does anyone, for a single solitary second, really think McCain, if elected, will give Palin any sort of prominent role in his inner circle? Anyone???

how has she made it a prominent part of her political resume?

I've heard talking heads talk about the fact that her child has downs, but can't recall any incidents in the past 2 days where she's pimped it out.

Where do you think talking heads get their talking points from? If we are going to have a serious discussion, please do not be so naive.

You and Napalm may have it right here; now that you mention it, it has been Republicans speaking on behalf of the campaign who have exploited her child, not the candidate herself (more research required). It is, however, still definitely Republicans who originally put the issue "into play".

so, everyone in the MSM is in the pocket of the GOP and there's no chance in hell they're bringing it up because they need something to fill time with?

The argument goes like this:

1) none of the pictures of Palin show her to be pregnant until she announced at 7 months,
2) she gave a 30 minute speech and then took an 11hr flight from Texas AFTER her water broke, and
3) her 16yr daughter was absent from school for the 4-5months before the baby was born.

If true, this would probably shake things up a bit... ;)

Google search

gee, lots of "coincidences" there.

coverups don't exist man...never. ever. no siree.

just "coincidences". "coincidences" happen. yeah.

This conspiracy is probably the dumbest thing I've seen posted on Anandtech, outside of those truther 9/11 threads.

No.

The MSM is much too lazy and hasn't done their own research for more than 20 years. They get their talking points, rebuttal to talking points and rebuttals to rebuttals directly from the campaigns. This is a fact that anyone who is either involved in a) journalism, b) politcs or c) public relations will readily confirm...

No, but it does qualify her as a liar.

Seeing as how we've had two liars in the White House for eight years, I'm not surprised you're throwing your support behind another one.

I don't know whether this is true or not, I'll be waiting for some reputable sources, thanks. But I'm getting a little sick of Republicans playing the dirtiest kind of politics they possibly can, 24/7, and then getting their panties in a twist when the mud slinging starts coming the other way. The GOP may not be the only people playing dirty pool, but they are WAY "better" at it than the Democrats are...so I think they need to take the payback like men and stop all the bitching and complaining.

what's more likely -- Palin had a pregnancy and was showing a bit less than some other women do, or Palin (who's been denigrated as, what... beauty queen, school teacher, not qualified to tie her shoes, etc, etc) engineered a massive conspiracy and got an entire hospital to lie and keep her secret?

Some kind of lies are okay.. like covering up your teenage daughter's pregnancy in order to save her the public humiliation caused by the career you decided to pursue.

Not to mention the two liars in office the eight years prior. Wow, 16 years of liars.

Why does it have to be a whole hospital?

What's more likely, that she really didn't want to give birth in a Dallas hospital after her water broke at the governor event, or she needed an excuse to get the hell out of there for her daughter's birthing but could spare the hours it takes to fly back to AK?

ok, maybe not the whole hospital... but every single person who may have possibly seen them from the second they entered the hospital parking lot to the time they left, in addition to doctors, nurses, techs, administrators, and anyone they might have talked to.

show me an eye witness who saw Palin's daughter being rushed to the hospital covering her stomach and maybe I'd think this was credible.
