Cubby2 asks me, "Well said! And with that, please post your full email history covering the last three years. If you've done nothing illegal, then you have nothing to worry about!
cubby1223 is online now Report Post Reply With Quote"

Ah but you see, cubby2, I never ran for governor of Alaska. Palin did and now she has to follow the law she roped herself into following by winning her first term. Once Palin quit as Gov, her emails once again become private.

As for my emails, my emails and your emails are probably being intercepted by homeland security. Since homeland security has not nailed me yet, I won't bore you with my details. But if you, cubby2 feel the need to post your past 3 years of emails, go right ahead I won't stop you. Just don't be surprised if no one finds any of your emails contain a single bit of worthwhile enlightenment.

As for the posts you and I make on this forum, if GWB or Obama wants to know what you or I think, all they have to do is read a public record. No subpoena needed.

who cares?
Maybe you don't but you just watch the posts here. These emails will be gone over with a fine toothed comb and every little bit of minutiae that can be found will be gleefully reported. There will scores of passages taken out of context and strung together to create the impression of anything the left feels is detrimental to her. They'll all be posted about right here. You won't have to look anywhere else.

The left always tells us who they're most afraid of. That's what this is all about. Do you see them mounting this kind of assault on any other candidate announced or unannounced? They are so afraid that she might run and win that they will do virtually anything to tear her down. Their fears are well founded in my opinion. She's got the power to tear down all the left has built up and she's on message with the desires of a majority in the country. The left would like everyone to forget that poll after poll shows the majority to be right of center. A Palin win could set the progressive left back the hundred years it took them to get where they are today. They're very aware of this.

Palin will be front and center from now until November 7th of 2012 and it will be the fault of the left. She'll be continually in the media with tons of exposure. The Achilles heel of the left in this scenario is that for one, they underestimate the American people by thinking these emails will carry any real weight. The American people as a whole will, for the most part, ignore whatever is found because they understand that zealots are leading the charge. Did anyone else see them scurrying to their cars with the boxes?

Secondly, they'll underestimate the public's patience for the extensive reporting of the 'findings' they'll be exposed to continuously. In doing so, they will hurt their own cause. It will be fun though, to see who they blame. Hint: it won't be them.

More exposure, more money for Palin.

Quitting is the best thing to happen for her.

Maybe some of you Palin clubbers may be ignoring the end effects of the tapes of Richard Nixon. In June of 1974 Nixon still looked good, by early August he was toast. Damn lucfky to escape criminal charges.

For me to say its anywhere near comparable will depend on the emails.

It's pretty telling that the Washington Post and New York Times are looking for volunteers to poor through all these old emails. The Dems really hate her - I mean she makes them implode.

People say its because Palin is good looking but thats only part of it. Palin really exploded the abortion thing. Many women would abort their babies so as not to hold their careers back. Then there is Palin who didn't abort a handicapped kid and who was a good looking and successful national leader. That hate her because she reminds them of how they lost the character she still has. I saw that as someone that doesn't want her a POTUS. She's more effective working the margins.

I'm open to your opinions on why the left is attacking her repeatedly and relentlessly. What do you think are the reasons behind the treatment she's garnering?

People also have the uncontrollable urge to slow down to stare at a horrific car accident. I'm guessing the motivations are similar. Especially considering even Bloomberg polls have her at 60% unfavorability rating among Americans. A poll conducted June 3-7 has 66% saying she should not be the Republican candidate and that includes a +20 spread among Republicans who don't want her to run.

The only people who should be worried about her are the GOP.

Edit: just to add she's a spotlight whore. Can't blame the mainstream media for that "reality" show now can you? She isn't exactly trying to stay out of the public eye.

This circus is an absolute riot to watch. I still cannot find any coherency in any of it!

Then the usual suspects might tell me to stop deflecting, stop defending Palin, whatever. And I'm just like, you're the retard here, I'm just laughing at all this nonsense.

Then the progressives come in and say this is a necessity for honest, transparent government, fighting against corrupt unethical elected officials. And I say you are all idiots, I stick to my intuition that there is nothing of significance to be found here. All that is going to happen is the laws will be changed to prevent this nonsense. Government will become less transparent. Why? The usual progressives will say it is a sign that Republicans are even more unethical and pursuing their evil anti-American agenda. But everyone with a brain knows it's a matter of *practicality*. Government NEEDS to function on important matters, not devote so much time, resources, and tax-payer money babysitting the retards of this world. And to be non-partisan, the same goes for all the retards screwing up the FOIA requesting copies of President Obama's birth certificate. Or the same with the Blago trial, I fully understand why the taped conversations are not being played in their entirety for the jurors to hear. Nor released to the media. I certainly don't take the stance that this likely means the government is hiding something.

Congratulations all, we will end up with the exact opposite of the ultimate goals :D I know my state of Illinois, Democratically controlled legislative & executive branches, recently passed new laws limiting the scope of the FOIA.

This is a pathetic circus which will lead to multitudes of emails taken out of context, thereby leading to scores of partisan debates about nothing.

If she was on the public dime, then all those e-mails are open to FOI. Other then a few that might concern personnel issues or medial records, every official e-mail is and should be public record.

BINGO! We have a winner. Yes she was on the public payroll at the time-she was sending these emails in her official capacity but on a private email account in an attempt to defraud the public and evade the law. FOI laws apply to all, we don't elect kings here.

It's absolutely disgusting it took longer to get these emails (three years) than the entire time she spent as governor when the law required them to be produced within ten days. And then she has the gall to complain about the high legal costs she was incurring to defend her illegal activities. Palin does a pretty good job of channeling Nixon sometimes-except he was a whole lot smarter and a whole lot more concerned about the country.

Her garbage during her tenure will be next.

They gotta find something

Meanwhile stocks are down, unemployment is still high, etc. etc.

Good to know the media got some priorities :awe:

In one sense, you are correct. But in another sense, you are very, very wrong :D

Should these emails be public record? The law said so, so yes.

Does the fact that the emails were not public record prove she was attempting to defraud the public and evade the law on other issues?

The real point here is that there is so much illegal activity that goes on in this country. Hi, I live in Illinois with our two most recent former governors convicted felons sitting in jail. There are not enough resources to investigate everything. The media, hell you too, have a responsibility to make smart decisions on which avenues to pursue for the best protection of this country.

If you truly believe spending all this time investigating Palin is worth it, then you're just a sad person.

Let me know when the emails reveal something significant. Your interest in this matter are more of your personal disgust with her, than it is about the law or about the protection of this country. And you know this to be true. That's the disturbing part about this whole thread. You are lying to us. You are lying to yourself. And the lengths you, and others in this thread, go through to try to justify yourself, it really is a sight to see :D

From what I have seen so far, there is little to see from the emails. But still too early to tell completely, we will see.

What do you want the media to do about that? Always blaming the media like a awesome dude.

"Oh it's not us, it's the media. It's not us it's the media. The media has distorted our image to make us look bad. It's not us, it's the media.

Please cut the fucking shit. When I go to the money machine tonight, I ain't looking over my shoulder for the media, I'm looking for niggas."

Early reports suggest huge redactions of anything that sounds controversial.

I'm not sure what rules are being followed or who's deciding what to censor.

Perhaps it is because the redacted anything that was personal and not related to her job of governor.

Since the emails were sent for a personal account I would guess that there are tons of personal emails such as "want to go shopping saturday?"

BTW we need to have Weiners twitter account made public. Since he was using it for government purposes to reach out to potential supporters and voters. That would make that account one used for governmental purposes and thus it should be open for all to see.
