Palin warns against one-party rule

Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin told supporters Wednesday that one-party Democratic rule in Washington would bring an ?agenda of inaction.?

After John McCain has spent all this time warning America that a Democratic uber-majority would be free to do what it wants, Palin comes out and says it will do nothing.
Clearly, Palin has gone rogue.

Context my friend. Well done trying to spin it. Expected.

?When you look over the energy plans of Barack Obama and his allies in Congress, it?s just a long, labored agenda of inaction,? Palin said during a speech on energy. ?And it?s the same agenda of inaction we could expect under the one-party rule of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid.?

The expected death knell of the McCain campaign. When the focus shifts to preserving the lower ticket it means they have implicitly given up hope of winning the Presidency. Ala Bob Dole in 1996.

The R's already got their offshore drilling, so drill baby drill and shut the fuck up about it already.

That's the sum of their energy plan.

Maybe she should tell more about her awesome pipeline that won't ever be built but has Alaska's taxpayers on the hook for $500 million.

When you look at what the Republicans accomplished when they had both majority in Congress AND the Presidency for 6 years...maybe she's right! The Repubs accomplished nothing...except to make the rich richer...

Again, during the 6 years that the Repubs had control, WHAT energy policy did they manage to push through except to make the oil companies rich while the American people got to watch gas prices triple in 8 years?

Thanks to special interest EPA tree hugging groups very little. Its very bad publicity to try to undo any environmental regulations or emission standards. People just frown upon it. They arent expected to understand all the fine details, its a simple "Well, HUR, pollution is bad HUR!" so anytime theres talk of "changing" (Loosening) the current standards everyone is up in arms.

But, Europes emission standards for small diesel engines doesnt seem to be a problem for them even though ours are tigher. So what have we done? Stifled small diesel development, which is the easiest short term answer to consumption.

More pollution IS bad. Why exactly do you want to loosen emissions restrictions? To shift a small cost off of industry, and incur a big cost to public health and the environment?

YES! It didnt take too long at all for a "Welll, HUR, pollution is bad HUR!" to come along.

Speaking of which. Unfortunetly the Bush administration has corrupted the EPA to a certain extent.

Case and point: California wants to raise its emission/milage standards for new cars to be sold there. They approved their legislation and it was wanted by the dems/repubs and Arnie as governor. The only thing they needed was a waiver from the EPA, which they got every single time in the past they requested it whenever they raised emission/milage standards for their state. Guess what? The waiver was flat out denied by the head of the EPA after the Administration put serious pressure on him.

How do you answer that?

Palin is against one-party rule? I guess she must have voted for Kerry in 2004.

Didn't seem to bother Bush too much...he has done more environmental damage to this country by undoing environmental safeguards, that will be able to be fixed in 100 years...
