I'm going to offer a little constructive criticism here to Sarah, leave the stage and read a book. I can't believe people are still confortable with the possibility of her in the White House.

Disagreement with policy on any POTUS is fine but competence should be a minimum requirement.

another gem

I'm not a governer of a state just a dopey citizen but when I read this I just said "ooooh!"

Yeah I know...blah...blah...blah...liberal media attack...blah...blah...blah...hollywoord elitist...blah...blah...blah...MSM hates her.

Why is it when she is quoted its everyone elses fault?

I don't think it is at all. Her quote is yet another example of how painfully provincial her mindset it. She probably also thinks the US has a Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

I know it sure does seem confusing. The US has a Department of Veterans Affairs. The State of Alaska has a "Department of Military and Veterans Affairs". <--- All one department

Well, there's that too. Don't tell the repubs in this thread though, they don't get to have very much fun these days.

Department of Law

The left is going bananas because Palin said:

"If she were in the White House, she said, the "department of law" would protect her from baseless ethical allegations."I think on a national level, your department of law there in the White House would look at some of the things that we've been charged with and automatically throw them out," she said. There is no "Department of Law" at the White House."

No, there is no Department of Law at the White House -- but there is in Alaska. Alaska's Department of Law "is part of the executive branch of Alaska state government" and "serves as the legal advisor for the governor and other state officers, prosecutes all violations of state criminal law, and enforces the consumer protection and unfair trade practices laws."

Is it really that crazy that Governor Palin would suggest that the White House equivalent of her Department of Law would handle the kind of frivolous ethics complaints she's been forced to deal with on her own?

Email the article Department of Law to a friend:

She can call it anything she likes, that hardly matters. The thing that bothers me is that she believes that she has immunity from questions of ethics. Considering her own Dept of Law could not do that for her as the Executive of Alaska, why does she think the AG or whoever will say that the President is above investigation and declare her immune by virtue of her position.

I'm glad she's going nowhere.

She isn't saying she should be immune, just the bulk of them have been frivolous.

List of all the complaints filed against Palin.

http://www.adn.com/palin/story/838912.html

11. Dec. 18, 2008: Complaint contended Palin misused funds of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute, a quasi-government entity, to promote her political ambitions with advertisements featuring her, violating ethics law. The ads promoting Alaska seafood ran in the National Fisherman last year through November. Dismissed Jan. 12 after a personnel board investigation determined Palin's only involvement was to give permission to use her image long before she was named McCain's running mate.

18. April 27: Contends Palin is misusing the governor's office for personal gain by securing unwarranted benefits and receiving improper gifts through the Alaska Fund Trust. The fund was recently established by supporters to help Palin pay off more than $500,000 in legal debts stemming from other ethics complaints, including troopergate. Complaint filed by Eagle River resident, Kim Chatman. Pending.

They all just scream corruption don't they? Troopergate is the only complaint that had merit and was thoroughly investigated, and then dismissed.

I could see some one getting a little sick of it.

let's go easy on the lady. she's like every politician trying to make a living. but I do question her departure from the governor's job so prematurely.
