But the main point is that those mainly protesting Israeli delay of any Palestinian State came from outside of Israel countries and very little from inside of Hamas or Fatah dominated areas.

Leaving Netanyuhu without a real platform to blame the violence of the new Palestinian unity government. Leaving Israelis with another reminder, in 63 years, Israel has not made a single mid-east ally. Last year Israel might have had two or three such allies, but now they can't even claim one.

They should have granted those crossing the border amnesty, then Israel might have gained a few allies in the mideast. A dictator, maybe a despot or king!

It looks like the IDF courageously held their ground, and there were no Israeli casualties during this attempted Palestinian invasion of Israeli land. It sounds like a coordinated attack, occurring at 4 different border crossings.

Attack? There's no indication that the protesters were even armed. The Israelis were doing all the shooting... nothing unusual about that.

A poorly planned, resourced and executed offensive is still an offensive. It just goes to show how effectively the weapons embargo against the Palestinian areas are working.

Uhmmm, you're going to need to provide some polling support for that. And just so you know 'support for Israel' does not equal 'have no problem with Israel running the USA'.

Support for Israel runs at about 60% in America, it's pretty safe to assume that not all of those 60% want Israel running US foreign policy, and it's very safe to assume the 40% or so that don't support it or have no opinion want it running America. So, at a minimum 4 in 10 Americans have a problem with it, not sure if that qualifies as 'very few'.

Dude, your reasoning in this thread is bordering on delusional. The definition of offensive is 'a military operation that seeks through aggressive projection of armed force to occupy territory, gain an objective, etc.'. I am unaware of any reasonable person who views a group of unarmed people doing this as an 'offensive'.

Like I said, just because they did a crappy job and didn't have arms doesn't mean they don't have objectives and goals which involve conquering Israeli territory.

I'm not delusional. My real point is, I don't care that the IDF shot these unarmed... I guess we'll call them people. They crossed the border illegally. In most places that gets you shot. 'nuff said.

They may have objectives and goals that involve Israeli territory, but there's no evidence that they were trying to annex Israeli territory by THIS action, hence it is not an offensive.

You've shown yourself to be a pretty disgusting... well... I guess I'll begrudgingly call you a person. Glad to see that people in the Army are as classy as ever. There's a reason why they are the service everyone else laughs at.

I'd say it deserves to be laughed at more than any other service. It's the most well funded, but the slowest to adapt and react. Upper management seems to be comprised mostly of those without the intelligence or drive to make it in the private sector. I forsee myself returning to my private sector job in the next few years. The position is still saved for me, and having participated in the wars, which are now winding down, I no longer have to be bear the title of "chicken hawk" and can now just be "hawkish." I'm hoping to score one last deployment to Afghanistan before I ETS though.

Oh, I was just mentioning that I've known Army people who were as shitty as you apparently are and you reminded me of why that service is looked upon so poorly. I've laughed at your stupidity before, but now I'm mostly just contemptuous.

You probably think behaving this badly makes you edgy or a badass or something, but it just makes you gross.
