Palestinian protesters pose as Na'vi from "Avatar"

JERUSALEM – Palestinian protesters have added a colorful twist to demonstrations against Israel's separation barrier, painting themselves blue and posing as characters from the hit film "Avatar."
The demonstrators also donned long hair and loincloths Friday for the weekly protest against the barrier near the village of Bilin.
They equated their struggle to the intergalactic one portrayed in the film.
Israel says the barrier is needed for its security. Palestinians consider it a land grab.
The protests have become a symbol of opposition. They often end in clashes with Israeli security forces involving stones and tear gas.
The "Avatar" protest comes a day after the Israeli government began rerouting the enclosure to eat up less of the Palestinian village.

I know this isn't particularly relevant to most states, but this is just too hilarious.

I wonder if JC will sue the Palestinians in charge. Anti-Israel celebrities used his name in a petition to boycott films from Tel Aviv (many of which were in fact anti-israel films, LOL!) without his permission.

“To suppress a gathering of artists, from afar, through boycott or any other means of exerting pressure, is wrong,” Oscar winning filmmaker tells the 'Post'.

You really have to wonder how much free time these trolls have. Of all the barriers in the World - Saudi Arabia/Yemen, Berm, India/Pakistan LOC, etc...how many states would tolerate a group of protesters dressing up as a movie characters? How many leftists would feel comfortable protesting?

this is beyond ridiculous. palestinians would have no reason to exist without israel. the fence barely goes less than 6 kilometers passed the expired green line. maybe the PNA should spend more time teaching youth to become productive citizens instead of promoting incitement and pointless violence.

Yeah. They could be farming, or producing other stuff for export if Israel didn't keep holding up trucks of fruit to spoil in the sun at their non-discriminatory freedom-check-points.

Yeah. There'll be a massive pali suicide wave after the rapture.

Yeah, what's 6 kilometers? Minor inconvenience, if you ask me.

excuses. palestinians had a shit economy before 1967. all their economic progress has been the result of israel, not absence of it.

feel free to back up sources saying the check points r predicated on reducing palestinian economy.

you are aware the PNA controls 90% of the palestian population? aid from europe goes straight into PLO bank accounts. plo destroys entire shipments of food if they dont have arabic labeled on the package.

like most of the arab world, the palestinians failures r the result of...get this...the palestinians.

Yeah. There'll be a massive pali suicide wave after the rapture.

yes. palestinian identity is built on israel. even the so-called nakba is hey, mostly about israel.

imagine palestine without israel. where is fatah and hamas? nowhere.

yes, minor inconvenience. leftists bitch and moan about fence, even though lebanon has built a similar fence around their palestinian population without protest.

where were the leftists during the 1,000 suicide bombing attempts, 200 of which were executed, and 70 of which were committed by minors?

nowhere.

I see delicious irony in the above. I also wonder where Hizbullah would be. Probably nowhere as well.

Why didn't Israel build the fence 6km in the other direction?

typical leftist, totally avoiding my post. feel free to find facts discrediting above. i know being an apologist for homicidal muslims must be hard when u cant find facts to back it up.

uh?

because it didnt have to?

aggressors get occupied. the fence guarantees security from suicide bombing while providing the much needed defense umbrella for the jewish residents of the west bank.

ask hamas, they've given up on suicide bombings and they blame the fence openly.

it seems every other country in the world can build a fence, but the only one that pisses of them is israel's - even though it is a more moral right to build a fence they an other nation.

troll.

Ah, typical fundie. Why bother finding facts for you when you consistently ignore anything and everything that contradicts your delusional view of the world.

I don't really know how difficult it would be. I've never tried being an apologist for "homicidal muslims," but something tells me you have enough experience with the apologist mind-set to be an authority on the issue. It seems care-free and easy, judging by your posts.

Sounds fair to me.

Who cares about what happens thousands of miles away from the US? We should leave the middle east alone and let them self destruct.

Maybe israel should spend less time trying to murder children, but what can you expect from them.
