(16:55) Israel to AP: Release film of Palestinian celebrations



Israel is demanding The Associated Press release a videotape of Palestinian celebrations held in the wake of Tuesday's terror attacks in the United States.

The video reportedly captured Palestinian Authority security personnel participating in celebrations around the territories.

Israel claims the Palestinian photographer who shot the film and passed it on to The Associated Press received death threats.

Ra'anan Gissin, a senior aide to Sharon, called the incident "journalism under terror."

The Associated Press yesterday refused to comment on reports that it had refrained from broadcasting the film following pressure from the Palestinian Authority.

Unknown to many considering the recent tragedies in the US but there were three more bombings in Israel yesterday I believe killing in total 6. The other video tapes just showed citzens of Palestine celebrating, the videos in question show the PA authority celebrating.

I don't thinkt hey were faked. There is a lot of anti-U.S. sentiment with regard to the palestinians. But it does sound like Israel is trying to add fuel to the fire with this one.

Maybe we should send them a video of everyone celebrating the next time a Isreal gunship attacks a palestinian security office. But we are better than that.

Very true.

We just have to remember that the pressure we are now under is what Isreal feels like all of the time except they do not have the backing to do anything about it. With the recent events, it looks like they may get what they've wanted for so long.

If Isreal can get a copy of the tape, it will allow targetting of people for the next round of retaliation.

They can also be identified to Arafat as operating counter to his "stated" policies and force the issue of purging the ranks of people who are undermining his policies.
