Palamino/Tbred question

I'm bout to buy a new CPU, but according to my motherboard's latest BIOS updates, it only supports up to an Athlon XP 2100 Palamino. Most sites I see sell the 2100 Tbred, not the Palamino. Does this mean the Tbred won't work on my mobo? Anyone know a place that sells the 2100 Palamino?

My mobo is an Asus A7M266 btw.

I know that NewEgg has up to 1900+ in the Palomino core, But not anything higher. I'm in the same boat as you with this one MSI K7T266Pro2 that I have. It is a voltage issue with these boards. There may be a mod, hack, or BIOS that could let you use a Tbred core'd proc.

You won't see a lot of difference between the 1900+ and 2100+ Pally's. If you can afford it follow Whitelight's recommendation. You can search the For Sale/Trade forum and probably find a sub $80.00 NF2 mobo that can take the latest and greatest AMD CPU except for the Athlon 64. You can still use your existing CPU with the new mobo and just wait until you can afford a newer and faster CPU.😎
