Will I notice a difference? I'll be viewing on my computer if that helps at all. Just curious as I think those Radiohead Divx files from a while back were PAL and they seemed kinda oddly resolution-ized.

I have never ever noticed any difference.

DivX is different from either though.

PAL/NTSC applies only to DVDs.

not exactly. PAL has a different framerate (25 fps) and scan-rate (50/sec), and that is translated into the DivX encode if the source material was PAL. PAL also has more horizontal lines of resolution, hence the funky resolution.

furthermore, PAL is the television standard in europe, and european DVD's are only PAL format as a result of that.
