They spend billions on defense and let terrorists control areas on the Northwest!
:Q WHOA!

Just for the record, that is exactly what we've been trying to tell you for years.

Welcome to the party...

Then again, unlike Pakistan, all you really need to do is give us the coordinates, and any Taliban we find at the locations are as good as dead! (What happens when we provide Pakistan with coordinates for AQ or Taliban bases? Those bases "mysteriously" relocate within hours... profound difference, I'd say)

But yeah, it's nice to see your guys getting motivated to really fight... are you planning to sign up and help TGB?

Hell, I'd be happy if Pakistan started conducting surgical strikes inside Pakistan. The fact that The Green Bean thinks it's reasonable to compare an occupation force in what is basically a war zone (the US in Afghanistan) to the legal government of a country (Pakistan) and their respective abilities to deal with terrorism says a LOT about Pakistan's efforts.

It's a hard problem, and there aren't any easy or fast answers...but honestly, Pakistan is among the least helpful allies we've ever had. Pakistan is going to help out in Afghanistan, TGB? How about sorting our your OWN country first, eh?

Rainsford, IMHO, sheds more heat than light by asserting, " It's a hard problem, and there aren't any easy or fast answers...but honestly, Pakistan is among the least helpful allies we've ever had. To start out, the Rainsford delusion is to assume Pakistan is our ally here, all they did is to lease us on an Godfather basis of make them an offer they can't refuse land route into Afghanistan. Of course we could have picked the only other nation on the planet with similar access, Iran. Lucky Pakistan, they won?

And now we expect Pakistan to be at the same stage we were on well past our civil war, when the Louisiana purchase bought us sovereignty over what amounted to the wild wild West in 1803, it was not even on our radar screen then, and we expect that Pakistan to instantly bend to our will, when the Pakastani tribal regions have seen all the wonderful benefits Western military meddling has brought to Afghanistan, and quite understandably do not want to see it imported into their homeland.
