Pakistan seeks nuclear ties with Russia

ISLAMABAD ? Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said Pakistan wants enhanced cooperation with Russian Federation in the fields of nuclear technology, education, science, defence and trade.
Talking to a Russian media delegation here at the Prime Minister?s House, he said potential of Pak-Russia cooperation remains ?under utilised?.
The prime minister said: ?The whole dynamics in the world are changing and Pakistan desires to have better relations with every country including Russia.? He said a new chapter of Russia-Pakistan relations needed to be opened and linkages should be developed in every field for mutual benefit. Prime Minister said Pakistan is trying to increase its capacity in energy sector. He said plans are under way to import gas from overseas.
Aziz said Pakistan and Russia need to cooperate in oil and gas, electricity and peaceful use of nuclear energy.
Asia keeps becoming more and more evolved, free trade between nations, Asia and the EU, the NAFTA We are slowly moving towards hopefully a more entwined world. The only thing holding us back is the fear mongering from all politicians in all countries.
