Pakistan really feels like they got shafted (in the past).

I was watching CNN yesterday and then again now - larry king and pakistani president are chatting. Yesterday the impression I got from some interviews with pakistanis (they had some people with brains on, not just chanting garbage and beating up straw dolls of bush) was that they overall liked america but they felt like they got ditched after the soviet problems a decade back.

Now the pakistani president is saying the same thing; that they feel they got ditched - but of course Pakistan is cooperating quite well so they obviously don't hate the US but I really hope that the afghanis don't get forgotten when this is over! Musharraf is worried about being forgotten again but is giving everybody a second chance.

Yea... well the US has decided to do numerous things to help Pakistan since its agreement to help fight terrorism. It's not like they got a bad deal - they got sanctions removed and promises of being tighter with the US. Pakistan isn't the one that lost 4,500+ people! Also, now there isn't a big fat Communist nuclear power that is on the brink of war with the US - the US will have more leniency to help Pakistan this time instead of being virtually forced to leave them alone.

Ummm, but aren't you forgetting the part where he said that he is positive he & Pakistan made the right decsion in siding with the US and he has absolutely no regrets concerning that decsion????? He was also quoted as saying that the support of the Pakistani citizens is swaying in favor of his descion...............who knows about that part though.......not from what the media has shown..........

Thats my point - I think that Pakistan as a whole does support the US here. I just hope that they don't get forgotten for it, thats all :)

Kind of funny how Pakistan supports terrorist who feel we are TOO involved in there affairs. Another case of Americans being damned if they do damned if they don't.

The terrorist there secret service ISI have been supporting inlude bin Laden...there goal to wipeout ALL western influence from ALL muslim countrys.

I am not sure how many of you know this. But since 1989, pakistan government has sponsored terrorism in Kashmir, India. The death toll over there is over 30,000. Kashmir, once among the most beautiful places in the world has been turned into a graveyard by these terrorists. It really hurts.

Countries b'tch when the US is involved in their country, and then they b'tch when the US is not involved in their country.

Then they b'tch because our immigration policies are not liberal enough, liberal as they are.

While I don't like Musharraf, one thing about the current Pakistani president, he's pretty brave. He knows that a lot of extremist muslims in his country want him dead right now.

why dont u like musharraf? I think he is the ruler pakistan should have had long time ago. brave, straightforward, sharp and wise. He knows how to deal with different types of situation and what to say (and what not to say) in press conferences etc. Example, the Agra Summit, ask how many indians are still pissed off about whatever musharraf did over there.
