No matter your opinion of The Green Bean, many if not most of those affected by these floods are the furthest thing from political or violent. Life in a region that is incredibly poor to begin with has just gotten significantly worse.

By all means do your due diligence and ensure your donations end up going to the right people, but do remember that they're simply other people who right now need help. I'm not the type to post messages asking people to donate to anything, but at least realize that your anger may be misplaced here.

i donated. i felt conflicted about donating... on the one hand, they're a country that hides bin laden and pays for terrorist acts against us. on the other hand, many of these people affected by the flood are innocent and the country/government of pakistan needs to realize that we're not an enemy and help us out in return...

i don't believe that the united states' efforts in relief aid for pakistan will make the taliban and other terrorists stop what they're doing... they'd probably think it was a ploy or something and hate us even more. you just can't win with pakistan...

yeah, the united states foreign policy is ridiculous, but these are innocent people who are suffering. we help victims. it doesn't have much to do about the war.

unfortunately, our government is funding both sides of this ridiculous war... is has since the day it began. that was bush's doing. obama's trying his best to end the war in iraq while making sure afghanistan is secure.
