How do you paint this thing? I cant figure a way to get the felt think off the faceplate. Can I find black dye relatively cheeply? or should I just use spray paint?

TIA

i've always wondered this too🙂 and why vinyl dye? isn't that just another name for paint? how will a spray painted mostly plastic case look anyways🙂

I heard with the dye it actually penatrates the plastic and you dont have to worry about chipping the buttons and stuff that gets a lot of wear. I'm not sure about primer for plastic, I will have to look into that.

I am/was actually kinda worried about painting this with soemthing slipped between the face and the felt because I didnt know if the paint would make the paper I put in there stick to the face, and if I "cut" the paint where it stuck how it would look.

I'm leaning towards dye but price is a factor.

i guess you'd have to clean the surface so the dye soaks in evenly hmm😛 if its a simple rub on procedure that would make it really easy to do my entire case... but i wonder how toxic the stuff is.

Well you have to spray the metal. I've been wanting to do my whole case, but I havent had time to pick up all the stuff

I should do that to a drive sometime.

I painted my original case a long time ago. Still on there. I used a green spraypaint after creating a positive from masking tape.

just use some alcohol to clean it of finger prints and stuff and then spray a few coats of spray paint and possibly gloss, you could take out the face plate and do different colors for the tray and the button. I'll add a pic of mine once it gets brighter, my digi cam suxs and has no flash.
