ISIS has been destroying all cultural and historic artifacts that they deem to be offensive. Everyone loves them and is better off for their actions.

Right?

Some American companies refusing to sell a flag of the Slaver's Rebellion is comparable to the destruction of Palmyra?

Hey WTF.

I guess if ISIS eventually gets taken down, in the future they can roll around in Black Hummers with ISIS flags painted on the roof and call it ISIS Pride.

:hmm:

Not even close. But neither is your comment close to anything being discussed in this thread. Might want to try reading before you comment.

The discussion is about destroying the General Lee which most would see as a cultural and historic artifact.

lol! It's a fucking prop from a corny old TV show, it's not a cultural and historic artifact (except to morons).

If it is one then so is the Flying Nun's hat.

I guess girls will be prosecuted for wearing "daisy dukes" as well?

That was being done even before she did it.

She just stuck a name to it I guess.

We just called them "cut-offs" prior to that.

You? Concerned about women? BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh... you're only concerned about what they'll be able to wear that turns you on?

OK, that's believable.

The car still exists. A symbol of the failed Slaver's Rebellion that had been painted on the roof was painted over and replaced with a different symbol.

You want something that looks the same, feel free to buy the same model auto and paint it the same way as the original. Instant cultural relic.

Of course, Daisy Duke. From the show. I just chose the smallest picture for a quick and easy link.

Wow, what a well-thought-out SJW argument! I'll just have to turn my whole life around now! This will be the magic moment in my life where I think to myself how I was saved from misogynistic tyranny!

Go back to your Oppression Olympics, snowflake.

Shorter Maxi: "Bros before Hos!"

SJW has lost all meaning other than that the person calling someone one believes that they are being persecuted by women. You poor little guy...

Back to the topic: It's his car, if he wants to blow it up he is free to do so. Painting the American flag on it isn't some sacrilege.

It's a damned car that was a prop in a TV show that ran for six years, not a memorial.

I guess it is fucking insane to get rid of a symbol of racism, bigotry and sedition because it may mess up ur idea of TV history. I guess you got ur priorities in the right order.

When people get to retroactively decide what things are a symbol of just to get rid of them then getting rid of them for those reasons is pretty stupid. Case in point neither the General Lee, nor the flag painted on top had anything to do with those things you mentioned. Have you even watched the show?

emperus is a typical libertroll moron. Biffx is correct. The antagonists on that stupid show were a corrupt, fat, WHITE sheriff (or whatever he was) and an incompetent, WHITE deputy. The show poked fun at backwoods WHITEY types like Boss Hog and Enus (sp).

Tell our history, with warts and all. Libs love to emphasize the warts; you'd think they'd want stuff like this kept around to remind everyone how evil southern white people were / are.

you are just stupid enough to think that will end racism.

That's a rather stupid inference from my post. And the point ur making is rather stupid at that.

Btw, I am on any quantifiable measure smarter than you.

The fact that we haven't gotten ridden of the confederate flag speaks volumes about this country and how it truly feels about African Americans and the sins of the forefathers. It is akin to people in Germany still walking about the swastika.

The rebel flag is the identity of the South, and says nothing of African Americans.

Making such attribution is your made up effort to be bigoted and hateful towards the South, from the actions of a lone gunman the South unanimously condemned. You'd rather sow the seeds of division he hoped to achieve.

It doesn't become true just because you keep repeating it. African Americans seem to have a very different opinion on the matter than you do.

It's a battle flag of people who fought to keep African Americans as slaves, to have a right to continue to steal their labor, beat, rape, and kill them. I wouldn't say it says nothing of African Americans. It also says a lot about the "identity" of the people still flying it.

There were african american slave owners. There were non african american slaves. Sorry, this isn't and wasn't about slavery, and it certainly isn't all about african americans. Plenty of people in the north that held slaves as well. Where was their flag?

The battle flag was about the confederacy. Your contention is it has nothing to do with blacks?

Let's see what Alexander Stephens the Vice President of the confederacy had to say about it...
On March 21, 1861, Stephens gave his famous Cornerstone Speech in Savannah, Georgia. In it he declared that slavery was the natural condition of blacks and the foundation of the Confederacy. He declared, "Our new Government is founded upon exactly the opposite ideas; its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery, subordination to the superior race, is his natural and normal condition."[19]
