painting my case

hey guys...i am painting my case black, i sanded it down and put a few coats of primer on, i waited a day and put a few coats of paint on. i was wondering if i have to wait a few days to have the paint get a strong grip before i apply the clear coat. and how many coats of the clear coat do i put on?
