Hey all,

I'm entertaining the idea of painting the hvac ducts in my basement white to match the walls and drop ceiling we will put in. We'll likely leave the overhead ducts exposed since they're in great shape, but they're a nasty metal color.

Is there any specific paint I should use? I assume i need something that is resilient to heat as I'm sure they'll get warm in the winter when the furnace is running.

Thoughts?

I'd look at using Kilz primer, it's white and will probably stick to the metal better than normal paint.

Thanks. Just picked up a gallon to try it out. Salesman said I shouldn't expect it to be as consistent as a better quality paint, but this was definitely the right thing for the first layer and that if it turns out ugly, I can paint over it.
