I've seen many guys do that to their wheel well areas on track days (slick and other R compound tires pick up dirt and rocks like crazy and sand blast the areas).

I've seen a few that cover their hoods like that... I've gone to them and asked, "So how long did that take you again?"

I have seen many people do it also. For traveling 200 or more miles or track days like you said. It only takes 30-1hour I read. I personally drive 30 miles to school everyday so I would not see my self taping up.

Wait... people do it to drive on the street 😕 ?

Why not get a clear bra where you would put the tape instead...?

notice how much tape? Clear bra doesn't extend out and around like that and it gets very expensive.

I don't buy into the whole tape thing though...if you are tracking it's not going to save your ass much.

However to tape a car with 3-4" painter's tape is not a long process.

I don't use tape myself on the track, so I don't buy into it either.

However, what I was suprised about was that somebody would tape their street car to drive on the street... A Scion tC no less...

He is probably one of those posers that is always on his way to the track, but you never see him there or when he gets there has some issue that he can't run with.
