Paintball

Can anybody give me good info/tips regarding paintball?

I have been going semi reg and am thinking of purchasing equipment. I have been playing mostly outdoor so I would be interested in gear/gun related to that. Not interested in speedball just yet but may go that way at later date. All I know is the rental guns suck hard and you cant aim work $%#^.

My questions are:

What should I be looking for gun wise? and how much should I expect to spend for good first gun?

What type of gear should I be looking at?

What gun models are good for semi intermediate player? I dont want something I will grow out of fast.

What stores/places I should look for gear at or stay away from?

Any other perdinent info.

P.S. please include info that you may think is a given cause I am a noob when it comes to equipment

First, go to these websites:

Go over to those forums and read around. Post a few questions if you have to. Get a general idea of what everything is and what's right for you.


Now, for your first gun, i'd recommend a Spyder. They're cheap and highly upgradeable. You can expect to spend anywhere from ~$100 to around $150 for a good gun.

You'll need the gun, a hopper, a co2 tank, a mask and paintballs to play. You can buy everything but the paintballs in a package and save some money.

What gun model? Go look around on those forums for opinions.

What stores? Shop4Paintball, X-Paintball, First Call Paintball, and there's a million more. Again, those forums have a lot of good info.
