I can say I've played both paintball and airsoft. I don't like speedball as I'm more into stealth and strategy.
I liked airsoft because the guns were replicas of the real thing. As far as the comment about being a pansy wannabe who wishes to have joined the Army or Marines, that's not true. Perhaps airsoft players would rather not get shot at and killed but like the tactical aspect of using real-looking guns (I am not knocking on those who do really go out in battle. Those fine people have more guts than I ever would.). Or maybe they want to use real-looking guns without being arrested and thrown into jail for murder. The only problem with airsoft is you pretty much have to use the trust system and hope the people you shoot and hit will acknowledge it. Of course, sometimes you have a powerful enough gun where the person you shoot at will scream in pain.
Paintball is also fun. In fact, I was able to play both whenever the mood struck us. The definate pro with paintball is it's more recognized as a sport or hobby and the guns do not look like real guns. It actually isn't all the more expensive. A case of paintballs doesn't set you back much and lasts for awhile and the CO2 refills are next to nothing nowadays.
Oh well, people are welcome to their opinions but don't have to be so elitist and harsh against the people who like something they don't like.
