OOH! I forgot about sniper rifles. Those are also REALLY REALLY nice. lots of $$ too so it'd be a good gun for him to practice on so he can be more well rounded.

I order from them a lot, never have had a problem with them.

Bob Long is a very good brand, some may say better than the Angel.

Wow if you have a 3000 budget you can get a VERY nice custom gun. I have been out of the loop for a while, but you really need to find out what his dream custom gun is. People have their "favorite" guns, some people do not like angels while others do. The two "safe" markers are the angel and autococker. I say the angel more so because the autococker is a little bit more difficult to work with.
The thing about the high end markers is that all of them are about on an equal playing field. They all generally have excellent parts, shoot very well, shoot accurate, and shoot very fast. The things that differentiates the high end markers are design and brand. The main problem with these custom guns though is that you have to order them and it takes time to make them. These custom markers are milled and adonized to reduce the weight and also to make them beautiful.
If you are going to spend 3k I say get a custom marker with a nice nitro tank. I don't know how happy he will be with a normal angel ir3, or something of that sort, so its imperative you torture his friends to get the information you need and find out what custom marker he wants :)
To give you an example of a custom marker here is a link to a marker I wanted oh so badly when I was actively playing paintball. Westwood. I am sure you can find a picture of a normal autocker, that's how this gun started, once you do you can truly appreciate its beauty.

ok, i've been playing paintball for 7+ years and i've tried tons of guns. basically, there is no single "best gun." different guns shoot, feel, handle, and look differently. it boils down to personal preference. w/ a $3k cap, i can tell that money is basically not an issue. so based on his current gun, i would say that the best bet would be to go for the angel speed. this has got to be the goddamn sexiest gun i have ever had the pleasure to lay my eyes on. the designed the gun so that it's just a paint pushing machine. no added bullsh!t, just sheer speed and consistency........plus, it's one of the nicest goddamn guns i have ever seen - and this is all stock.

check out some individuals' opinions here

and don't listen to anyone that tells you that an angel sucks. just like w/ any consumer products, people have loyalty to certain companies. (ATOT have all heard the occasional "AMD sucks" or "Intel sucks" blah blah blah. the only argument that is somewhat valid (and only for certain individuals) is that you can get an almost equally performing gun for a few hundred less........but that's it. nothing shoots or feels like an angel, and the speed is no exception. the only reason i'd tell you not to get the angel speed is that he might end up loving the gun more than he loves you. :p

a supair speedball player eyh.

well with 3k you could go with a angel and a high compression nitrous tank (4500 psi)

imho, go with a Emag, electronic power feed and a high pressure tank.. along with a nice mask, or something else.

AGD Polished E-Mag
ProTeam Warp powerfeed - smoke
AGD Flatline 68ci 4500psi Nitrogen system
Smart Parts Total Freak system

that smart parts total freak system is a barrel with interchangeable inserts. depeding on the day the paintballs can expand or contract, with this barrel you can pretty much customize your barrel to the specific climate/conditions (i personally have this and swear by it, just make sure to get a shorter barrel legnth, as he is a speedball player)

if you really wanted to go over the top you could go with something like a Warped sports dark angel IR3 or Warped sports dark E-Cocker... but those two are just a bit overkill ;)

if you need more help deciding fell free to send a PM, email or hit me up on aim: dbcrossfire. i would be more than happy to spend your mo... err assist you in your purchase :p:)

your not serious?

mags are the some of the smallest guns out there, making it a better choice for speedball. paired up with a warp powerfeed and you can lay down 12 balls a second when the gun is on it's side and not chop a ball. the powerfeed also takes the hopper off the top of the gun, make a huge difference when your poking your ass out the top of a bunker ;)

Stev0 has very good suggestions.

Personally, with a $3000 budget, I'd go Dark Angel LCD(not a fan of the IR3's) or an Excaliber. The excaliber is known as "an angel without the conistancy problems", but I had an angel for a while and loved it.

Checkout Paintballgear.com, I've delt with them several times and they're a GREAT retailer.

E-Mags are nice too, but I've never used one

for a starter gun, I would either get a spyder or a m98 (i forget the exact name).

As for the person who did this topic. You should pick him up a nice angel + a nice high compression nitrogen tank (maxflo is a very good brand) + a good set of barrels. I use to be big in the paintballing thing a couple years ago but have since sold all my gear so I'm not sure what is top of the line anymore.

i'm completely serious. emags are great guns......for certain people. personally, i hate them. and don't get me started on the warp feed. they are absolutely horrid. i've seen people tear off the goddamn warp in the middle of tournament games just to stick their old hopper back on. why have that huge clunker of a thing on the side of your gun feeding 12bps, when you can use a halo B pumping out 20+ bps. tournie players used the warp for a short while, but it's been all but completely phased because of the terribly inefficient design.

mr. bond - i have a dark angel lcd (check out my webpage). i payed $1700 for this thing a couple of years back. my dark has nothing on the angel speed......absolutely nothing. :p

get him a strange impulse or a adrenalin impulse or a orracle eblade sometimes called eclass orracle

these are very high end guns, i'm not that much of a fan of angels although they are good

then get a HALO B hopper

and get a Max Flo Nitro System

and Dye Ultralight Barrel 12inch -14inch

you should be set
