I just downloaded the Paint.NET program from the freeware thread and I cannot get it to save as .tga files. The option is there and it asks if I want 24-bit or 32-bit (I do want 32-bit) and then saves it, but it keeps coming out as the Paint.NET format. This doesn't help me because I need my pictures in the .tga format in order to make an animated CS:S spray out of them. Does anyone know why it is doing this or perhaps a way I can convert these Paint.NET files to .tga format?

Paint.net does save as .tga, but that's not how to "totally" make an animated image for CS:S.
When Paint.net says it's a ."paint.net" image, it's still a .tga, just labeled differently, don't worry there.
.tga files used in CS:S are the transparent background sprays.
You must create different .tga images, (to use as the "animation"), then correlate them into one .vtf and one .vmt file. (max size: 120KB)
Here's a linky thingy that may help ya out:

Good luck

I know how to make a spray because I have that program, but I need .tga files. I used to use another photo editing program (on a different computer :( ). I need to know if I can somehow have it as a regular .tga file because this Paint.NET thing isn't working.

Okay, nevermind this post. I just figured out what was wrong. I made all five of my images 256X256 when it should have been 128X128. It was too large of a file at the 256X256 size so I had to resize everything and it worked.
