I really enjoyed Painkiller - IMO it was somewhat underappreciated, in that I think it's a better game than the Serious Sam series, with similar gameplay but superior graphics, sound, and, IMO, feel.

I agree, it was a fun game, though it was a bit buggy for me (random crashes and erased save games) and multiplayer wasn't very fun. But for $7 it's definitely worth it.

Thanks OP.

I got a copy, I had wanted to play this and just never picked it up. For $10.00 shipped, I think its an awesome deal.

In for a copy, i really liked this game back in the day. Great game to kill some time with and the graphics and sound were top notch.

Better than SS First Edition or Second Edition? No.

Better than SS2? Yes.

can't agree

PK and SS are VERY different [if 'excellent' in their respective ways]. SS [FE/SE] is a pure adrenaline twitch shooter [SS2 is crap in comparison].

otoh, PK/BoOH are actually "deep" ... with undocumented weapon combos [eg. try firing the PK when it is spinning] incredible use of the Havok Engine {for its day} to jump to insane hidden places and great unlockable levels. ... and some great sky boxes [very twisted, i might add ... not for children]

they do have HUGE Bosses in common and Hordes of enemies at once ... ;)

That's more or less what I was comparing to.

I still can't get to all of the hidden stuff in Painkiller, even with a walkthrough guide. :(

there is ONE insane jump off a spring platform [you use a bomb to expose] to the very top of a tower that took dozens of tries ... another is a running jump off a narrow rail imed with a series of jumps that you need a video to see to believe [it took forever for me] .... and finally some require timing the jump with an explosion or the launch of your PK.

a FPS that kept me busy for a long long time

other that that, it is similar to SS series :p

:D
