Painful connection.

I've been suffering constant disconnects for the last week.
I just talked to the girl at the phone center and she told me in the last 24 hours I had 94 resets and 1502 lost sychronizations.
Last go around I had to buy a new modem (ultimately returned it) and had a tech to the house.
The whole debacle took 3 days, about a dozen phone calls, and two tech visits.
Ultimately they replaced the laser on our local node.
Instant problem solved.
I'd have never known what happened but I ran into the Adelphia tech on a job and he let me know what they did.
Along the way I uncovered a problem with their online modem reset that they offer. I talked to a number of their tech people to help them fix it and spent a good bit of time with that.
I hoped I'd get a little break for my troubles, but no break was forthcoming.
This go around, old Dad here is going to get a taste of free Adelphia service, guaranteed. 😀

I've used both Adelphia and Comcast... never had any problems with either except for the occasional two-hour outtage every six months or so.

We were one of the first two dozen connections in our area.
The first year was hell, but it was still better than dialup.
The last year has sucked terribly, and the cost continues to go up.
I don't have any other alternatives and I have unlimited server storage space and bandwidth, so I'd stay here no matter what. 😀
